Laura Anna Demers (nee Lemire) passed away on Oct. 15, 2003.
Laura was born at Fort Macleod to a pioneer family, and she celebrated her 90th birthday on June 13, 2003.
Laura married Pete Demers on July 5, 1937, in Fort Macleod, and then moved to the Huxley area where Pete and Laura farmed for many years.
In 1998 they moved to Innisfail, Pete to Rosefield Centre and Laura to Autumn Glen Lodge. Laura moved to Rosefield Centre in 2002.
Laura was predeceased by her loving husband Pete on Aug. 5, 2000, her three brothers and four sisters.
Laura is survived by her loving children, Anne Demers of Edmonton, Norman (Maureen) Demers of Huxley and Linda (Jerry) Walker of Trochu; three granddaughters, Melissa (Bill) Gunn of Huxley, Heather Demers (Rick Vooys) of Red Deer, and Nicole Demers of Huxley and friend Tanner Kubinec; great grandson Brandon and great granddaughter Brooklyn; two sisters-in-law, Frances Lemire of Fort Macleod and Marguerite Demers of Calgary.
Laura also leaves to mourn her passing many nieces and nephews, good neighbours and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 18, 2003, from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Innisfail.
