Doris Joyce Orr (nee Gillespie) passed away at her home in Lethbridge on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the age of 69 years. Doris was born at Carnwood, Alta. on March 22, 1936. She attended school in the Carnwood area while her dad worked at several sawmills.
Doris took the Greyhound bus, disembarking in Fort Macleod and landed a waitressing job at the Java Shop. It was here that she met Paul. Doris and Paul were married in 1956 and moved to the family farm south of Fort Macleod. They farmed there for 46 years until their retirement in 2002. At that time Paul and Doris moved to Lethbridge.
Doris is survived by her five children, Sylvia (John) Tucker of De Winton, Mona (Allen) Knight of Okotoks, Donna (Bud) Hogeweide of Lethbridge, Brian of Yorkton, Sask. and Darcy of Lethbridge; one grandson, Kevin Knight of Okotoks; four granddaughters, Amanda and Melissa Tucker of De Winton, Jessica Maclean of Strathmore and Kimberly Hogeweide of Lethbridge and one brother Lavern Gillespie of Edmonton.
A private graveside Service was held in the Orton Cemetery.
