Gervais, Clara Anna

Clara Anna Gervais passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at the age of 73 years. Clara was born in St. Benedict, Sask. on May 25, 1932. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Anton and Mary Reinhart and was raised on a large family farm. She later took her training as a registered nurse in Humboldt, Sask. Clara moved to Estevan in 1954 and worked in the hospital. It was in Estevan that she met Raymond Gervais. They were married on June 17, 1955 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past year. They lived in Estevan until 1961 at which time they moved to Fort Macleod, where Clara worked at the Fort Macleod Hospital until she retired. Raymond and Clara raised five children. Besides her family keeping her busy, Clara loved to camp, play cards, crochet and socialize with friends and family. She was an active member of the CWL. She enjoyed going to her monthly ‘survivor’ meetings. Clara will be sadly missed by her children and their families: Cheryl (Jerry), Corey, Kyle and Alisha of Pincher Creek; Gerry (Cyndie), Breanne and Lucas of Lethbridge; Keith (Nikki) of Fort Macleod; Owen (Susan), Lindsay, Nathan and Colin of Calgary and Brian (Jill), Mary and Danielle of Brooks; and by her sister Lauretta of Middle lake, Sask. Clara was predeceased by her loving husband Raymond; grandson Tyler; her parents Anton and Mary; and by her nine brothers and sisters, Roman, Ben, Oswald, Nick, Lena, Francis, Dora, Joseph and Herman. Prayer service washeld at EdenĀ¹s Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Macleod on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at 1 p.m. with Father A. Fermo officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
