Day, Grant Aden

Grant Day left this earth on Wednesday, Aug.13, 2008, at the age of 80 years.
Grant Aden Day was born on Jan. 5, 1928 in Macleod, the youngest of six children born to William Aden Day and Maude Hale. He attended business college and became a partner of the family Whitehall grocery store until 1980.
Grant married Jean Kennedy in 1951 and they raised seven children together. He enjoyed taking his family on picnics, car trips, boating and skiing. Grant’s second marriage was to Evelyn Braun in 1991. Grant later worked for Crestbrook Forest Industries until his retirement. He served a term on town council, was a former member of the Elks and Rotary clubs and continued to be a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Grant is known for his sense of humour, his backyard fires, catch phrases, his kindness to neighbors and his infectious laugh. Grant is survived by his wife Evelyn; his brother Gordon; five daughters and two sons, Debora (Rick) Cameron, Larraine (Clancey) Page, Warren (Lynda), Sara Wendy, Kevin (Lisa), Ruth and Tamara; three step children, Ken (Dianne) Braun, Holly (Frank) Hubregtse and Karen (Troy) Marsh; as well as 15 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Grant was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Jean and Ruth and his brothers Bud and Bill.
As per Grant’s wishes his family will acknowledge his passing privately.
