Marsh, Sarah Isobel (nee Holland)

Sarah Isobel Marsh (nee Holland) passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Fort Macleod Extendicare.
Sarah leaves to mourn two sons, Keith (Barbara) Marsh of Lethbridge and Larry (Diane) Marsh of Fort Macleod; son-in-law Bob Train of Fort Macleod; daughter-in-law Anne Grant of Fort Macleod; two sisters, Barbara Grimshire of British Columbia and Georgia Pollock of Saskatchewan; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sarah will be missed by all who knew her and shared in her life so many years. She loved her family and loved it when she could get together with all to have good laughs and tell stories.
Sarah was predeceased by 10 of her siblings; her parents; and three of her children and grandchildren.
Sarah was born in Bredenbury, Sask. on Nov. 2, 1917 to Calvin and Martha Holland. She went to school and was educated at Cutarm school. Sarah married Roderick C. Grant in 1935 and had three children. Sarah’s first husband passed away at a young age, leaving her a widow with two small children. She then moved on to Olds to be near a sister. She then met Albert Marsh and they married in 1946, having two more children.
Sarah worked all of her life, cooking at the lodge in Vulcan and Pioneer Lodge in Fort Macleod, and working at the Sears office in Fort Macleod. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church in Fort Macleod on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Eras Van Zyl officiating.
A private family graveside is to follow at Union Cemetery. Memorial donations in Sarah’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice.
