Palmer, Donald Ernest

Don Palmer

Donald Ernest Palmer was born on the homestead near Fairholme, Sask., about 80 miles east of Lloydminster. He grew up there and worked for local farmers, community pastures and the saw mill. In early 1974 he got tired of the cold winters and moved to Fort Macleod. There he worked at a mobile home plant, Nobleford Industries and other factory jobs. He retired to Fort Macleod Extendicare and lived there to his passing.
Don was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Hazel; brothers Albert and Herb; sisters Winnifred and Esther; and brothers-in-law George Nelson and Otmer Matthews.
Don leaves to mourn his passing, sister Rose Matthews; brother Melvin; nephew Rick Matthews (Susie) and their children Stuart, Anna-Marie, Mary and Sam; nieces Joan Bellanger (Frank) and their children Michael, Janine, and Vicky Dyck (Ken) and their children Tyler and Cory.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Christ Church Anglican, 320 21st St., Fort Macleod, Pilar Gateman officiating.
