A utility trailer flipped in the southbound lane of Highway 2 on Wednesday afternoon, blocking one lane.

The RCMP opened Highway 2 at 5:14 p..m. Wednesday, four hours after it was closed due to heavy smoke from a prairie fire.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Volker Stevin with the assistance of Fort Macleod and Claresholm RCMP began redirecting traffic on Highway 2 at Highway 519.
Northbound traffic was stopped and southbound traffic was rerouted to Highway 519.
Firefighters got the blaze under control in the late afternoon, but heavy smoke continued to billow across Highway 2.
Environment Canada forecast winds up to 100 km-h in southern Alberta.
Travel was not recommended south of High River due to the wind.
Emergency crews attended several rollovers that were the result of the strong wind.
