Langlois (nee Atterman), Elin

Elin Langlois (nee Atterman) of Ottawa Ont., daughter of the late Aktor and Ingeborg Atterman of Fort Macleod passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Ottawa.
Elin is survived by her husband Claude; three children, Claude, Denis and Michelle; and four grandchildren.
Elin, who was 72 years young, was an avid gardener who loved to entertain her family and friends by cooking up the fruits of her labour. She was a great cook and rarely served her guests the same menu twice.
Elin loved to travel by car and fly and drive so that she and her husband could explore freely the new corners of Canada and the United States that beckoned to her.
Elin was married to Claude Langlois in Fort Macleod on June 5, 1961. She graduated from Macleod High School in 1960 and attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton to get her teaching certificate. She lived in Ottawa with her family from 1967.
Elin was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2012. Although she appeared to be beating the cancer, she succumbed to the side effects of a secondary condition resulting from her immune system attacking her muscle cells.
Elin passed away quietly with her husband at her side.
