Stad, Neil (Cornelius)

Neil (Cornelius) Stad of Fort Macleod, beloved husband of the late Jean Stad, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Neil was born on Aug. 20, 1929 in New Westminster, B.C. to Amy and Lanbertus Stad.
He and Jean wed in 1951 and the following 12 years they were blessed with four children. They lived in several locations across Canada while Neil served with the Canadian Forces as an administrative clerk, moving to Fort Macleod in July of 2006 to be with family.
Neil was predeceased by his parents and siblings Anne, John, Bertha, Nancy and Olive.
Neil leaves behind his four children, Heather Gunn (Robert), Judi Zalinko (Roman), Bruce Stad (Deanna) and Ed Stad (Sarita); 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; as well as several family members and many friends. His sense of humour and quick wit will always be remembered.
In honour of Neil’s prior wishes, a memorial will be held in Hillgrade, Newfoundland, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, overlooking the beautiful Atlantic ocean.
