Gloria Ehlert passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at the age of 80 years.
Gloria had a lengthy struggle with cancer and passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. She is survived by her daughters and grandchildren, and predeceased by a son.
Born in southern Alberta in 1933, Gloria returned to this area in the later years of her life where she had some family roots.
Gloria was known as a business woman as she owned an antique shop. She was always a very independent lady who knew what she wanted. Wherever she went she spoke to people and enjoyed dealing with people personably.
Gloria loved the summers and the sunsets, her trees, her flowers, and her plants. She had a great love for her dog, Gizmo, and always spoke fondly of horses she had in the past. Gloria told a story of being three years of age and climbing on the back of her father’s horse without fear.
Gloria was a unique character whose presence in this town will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the Glenwood Cemetery.
