Fort Macleod environment committee needs clean-up volunteers

Fort Macleod residents will stage a community clean-up Wednesday, April 23.
The clean-up, which takes place from 4:30-6:30 p.m., is a belated celebration for Earth Day, which was marked on Monday.
“We are doing targeted public spaces,” Ronda Reach of the environment committee said.
The community clean-up is sponsored by the Fort Macleod Environment Committee in co-operation with the Town of Fort Macleod.
Everyone interested in taking part in the volunteer clean-up is asked to don their works gloves and meet at Fort Macleod Health Centre at 4:30 p.m.
Volunteers will be assigned to a specific area, and garbage bags will be provided.
The volunteers will be tasked with collecting garbage that has collected along fences and in ditches in Fort Macleod.
The environment committee will host a barbecue for volunteers following the clean-up.
Groups committed to participating in the clean-up include 2309 Fort Macleod Army Cadets, Sunshine Family Day Homes and the Fort Macleod Cubs and Scouts.
