John (Jack) Fowler of Fort Macleod, beloved husband of Clara Fowler, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the age of 80 years.
Besides his loving wife Clara, Jack is survived by his daughter Karen (Rob) Charlton; son Bruce (Lana) Fowler and family; two stepdaughters, Chris (Ken) Christenson and Donna (Gerald) Thomas; stepson Dan (Sally) Gray; 13 grandchildren, Amanda, Aaron, Andrew, Stacey, Randi, Dallas, Jessica, Nathan, Ryan, Amber, Tara, Nicole and Cameron; and four great grandchildren, Rachel, Chloe, Kaleb and Bella; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Ethel May and Robert Henry, brother Dennis Fowler and sister Rita Fowler.
Jack was born in Fort Macleod on Dec. 24, 1932. He was raised on his parents farm in the McBride District south of Fort Macleod. Jack remained on the farm after his parents retired and enjoyed the farm life until he retired and moved to town in 1997, where he resided with his wife Clara until the time of his passing.
Jack’s gentle manner, generosity and kind sense of humor will be greatly missed by so many loved ones.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday Dec. 23, 2013, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod, with Jack Cullen officiating.
