It is with sadness that the family of Vickie Lynn (Archibald) Haliday announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Calgary.
Vickie will be greatly missed by her son Damien (Dali) Festa of Calgary; parents Margaret and Dwayne Archibald of Fort Macleod; brother Tracy (Kelly) Archibald of Calgary; sister Judy (Gary) Sproule of Hussar; as well as nieces and nephews, Randy (Lori), Ashlee, Jamie (Travis) Archibald and Jared (Kelsey), Kirk and Quinn Sproule.
Vickie was fortunate to be part of a large extended family and will be missed by each of them as well.
Vickie resided in Calgary and had been experiencing health problems over the past few years. Prior to her illness she was employed by a property management company in the city. She also worked for Canada Revenue Agency in Calgary for more than 12 years.
Vickie was born June 2, 1956 and raised in Fort Macleod and graduated from F.P. Walshe high school in 1974. Following graduation Vickie attended SAIT in Calgary for two years and completed a Hotel, Motel Management Arts diploma.
It is there she met her husband Michael Festa and they were married in November 1976 and later divorced. Their son Damien was born Jan. 30, 1978 in Calgary. Damien was married to Dali Jovic on Sept. 7, 2014 and Vickie was thrilled to welcome her special daughter-in-law into her life.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod.
