Thelma was born on June 6, 1950 and lived on the farm formerly owned by Klaas Poelman, Sr., until the age of six. In 1956, the family moved to a farm two miles north of Granum until 1978 when she moved to Claresholm.

Thelma was a member of the Granum Christian Reformed Church. She loved travelling with her sister to Europe and around North America. Her favourite place to go was Waterton, where she often went with her family and friends.
Thelma enjoyed her retirement and also volunteered at the Claresholm Public Library. She will be remembered by everyone who knew her as a wonderful sister and friend.
Thelma’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff of the Chinook Health Unit and the Claresholm General Hospital for their kindness and caring over the past few months.
