Claresholm RCMP lay sexual assault charges

A Claresholm man will be in Fort Macleod provincial court Wednesday, Dec. 6 to answer charges he sexually abused five teenagers.
Claresholm RCMP began an investigation Nov. 15 after five people in their middle to late teens alleged numerous sexual assault incidents over a period of 11 months.
As a result of this investigation, a Claresholm man has been charged with six counts of sexual assault, five counts of sexual interference and eight counts of sexual exploitation.
The RCMP will not release name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.
“Claresholm RCMP would like to thank the victims for coming forward,” Cpl. Laurel Scott of the RCMP media relations group said in a new release.
Scott said the RCMP encourages anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a similar crime, or any other crime to report these incidents.
