RCMP investigate trailer thefts

Pincher Creek RCMP need the public’s help solving recent crimes.
The RCMP on Nov. 12 responded to a complaint someone had removed the diesel particulate filter catalysts system from a large truck parked in the industrial area of Pincher Creek.
Cpl. Jeff Feist said in a news release the unit was likely stolen for the recycling value of the metals in the system.
Feist said the theft is believed to have happened the night of Nov. 11.
Pincher Creek RCMP are also investigating the theft of two trailers that were recovered at the Castle Mountain Ski hill on Nov. 9.
A travel trailer was stolen from Blue Trail RV Park on Highway 810 south of Fort Macleod and taken to the Castle Mountain ski hill where it was plugged into one of the vacant sites.
A white enclosed trailer stolen from the Coaldale area was also parked at the site.
Feist said both trailers contained stolen property, some of which came from other trailers stored at the Blue Trail RV Park.
Other items were stolen in the Coaldale area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pincher Creek RCMP at 403-627-6010 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
