Wire stolen from Fortis job site

A roll of wire was stolen overnight Feb. 7-8 from a Fortis Alberta job site at Highway 811 and Township Road 93, north of Fort Macleod.
RCMP Const. Tracy Gates said in a news release a large wooden reel of primary underground wire weighing more than 2,000 pounds was dragged across the highway and transported from scene.
Wire on the reel is encased in black plastic with red stripes.
The reel was more than six feet tall and about four feet wide.
The theft, which occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 7 and 7 a.m. Feb. 8, was the second of the week from the job site.
Ninety metres of primary underground cable was cut and removed from installation between Feb. 1 and Feb. 7.
