Nick Beer takes over as principal of Granum school next fall.
Livingstone Range School Division announced the appointment Monday of Beer and two other school administrators.
“I am very excited to be joining Granum school,” Beer said. “I look forward to getting to know the school and community better.”
“I believe together we will be able to build on an already solid foundation and continue to offer a great educational experience for all students.”
Beer is a teacher at F.P. Walshe school and taught at West Meadow, G.R. Davis, W.A. Day and J.T. Foster schools in Livingstone Range.
Beer is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge majoring in math and minoring in science and community health, and received his Masters of Education in leadership and school improvement.
Beer is a trained facilitator of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and has been a 7 Habits Lighthouse Action team leader.
Beer served on the school division’s educational technology advisory committee and won the J.T. Foster junior high Teacher of the Year in 2007.
In other Livingstone Range news, Robert Rodgers is the new assistant principal at Willow Creek Composite high school in Claresholm.
Rodgers worked in Livingstone Range as principal of F.P. Walshe school for three years and as principal of Matthew Halton school for five years.
Rodgers is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge, majoring in physical education and minoring in social studies, and received his Masters of Education in educational leadership from the University of Calgary.
Sean Latta is the new principal at West Meadow elementary school in Claresholm.
Latta is associate principal at Wheatland Crossing School in Standard.
He is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge, majoring in career and technology studies with a technology focus as well as a Bachelor of Management degree.
Latt also holds a Masters degree in Education in leadership from the University of Lethbridge.
