RCMP continue to investigate Macleod assault

RCMP continue to investigate an assault last week that sent a man to hospital with a gunshot wound.
No one had been charged at press time in the shooting, which occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Police were called to a residence on 11th Street at 12:20 a.m. where they found a man who had been shot.
RCMP from the Claresholm, Nanton, Pincher Creek, Piikani detachments, as well as the RCMP Emergency Response Team, were in Fort Macleod throughout the day Wednesday.
RCMP Cpl. Ronald bumbry said in a news release said the investigation revealed several men were involved withe eh incident.
Police executed a search warrant to enter the residence.
Police have not yet identified the men who were in the residence at the time of the shooting.
“It is believed this was not a random act and the individuals were known to each other,” Bumbry said in the news release.
