Pauline Watson — 1922-2002


Mrs. Pauline (Skory) Watson, was born in Mossey River, Manitoba on April 2, 1922, and passed away peacefully at the Bow Island Health Care Center Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at the age of 80 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Roy Watson; one daughter, Roselyn Pahl of Burdett and her four children, Milton (Lois) Pahl of Burdett, Ken (Gloria) Pahl of Calgary, Rodney (Sherry) Pahl of Bawlf, and Verle (Lorena) Pahl of Strathmore.
She also leaves behind her son Trevor (Eleanor) Watson and their daughter Melanie of Sherwood Park.
Pauline was predeceased by one daughter, Carolyn Strand, who leaves behind her two children Vincent (Brigette) Strand, of Spruce Grove, and Angela (Chris) Coy, of Calgary.
Pauline also leaves behind 22 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister Helen Hovan of Edmonton; one brother John Skory of Connecticut; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
After living a short time in Mossey River, Man. the family moved to Nelson, B.C., before settling in High River, where she attended grade and high school.
In December 1941 Pauline married Roy Watson of Fort Macleod. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2001.
During Roy’s stint in the military in Fredericton, N.B., twin daughters Carolyn and Roselyn were born in 1944. After the war, they started farming south of Fort Macleod in 1945. Their son Trevor was born in Lethbridge, in 1952.
Pauline obtained her teaching certificate in Calgary, and taught for 30 years in various locations in Alberta. Because of her love of teaching she continued to tutor at Pleasant View Lodge where she resided for the last three years.
Funeral services were held at Bow Island Evangelical Free Church, Monday Sept. 23, 2002, 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Harry Ruggles officiating.
