Phillip Hodnett, beloved husband of Edith Hodnett of Fort Macleod, passed away at Fort Macleod Extendicare on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at the age of 80 years. Phil is survived by his wife, Edith (nee Horn), whom he married in 1956; his daughter Christel; and one grandson, Patrick Blake, all of Fort Macleod. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his son, Phillip Renwick (Rennie); two sisters, Phyllis (Phil’s twin) and Marion and by his parents, Herbert and Gertrude Hodnett. Phil was a member of the Calgary and Lethbridge Shriners; the Alberta Masonic Lodge No. 3, Fort Macleod; Fort Macleod Chapter No. 53, Order of the Eastern Star; the Fort Macleod Royal Canadian Legion , the Fort Macleod Elks Club and he also served on Fort Macleod Town Council for 18 years. Phil graduated from Pharmacy in 1948 and purchased a drug store in Fort Macleod shortly after graduation and it is still known as Hodnett’s Pharmacy. He received his 50-year pin in 1998 and retired in 1999. Phil enjoyed his family, his dog (Muffy) and serving the community. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Aldeen McKay officiating. Cremation.
