| Mabel Ruth Collar, beloved wife of
the late Bill Collar of Fort Macleod, passed away at Extendicare, Fort
Macleod on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 at the age of 91 years. Mabel was born at Edmonton on Aug. 28, 1914, and attended school in Fort Macleod. She married Bill Collar in 1946 and they farmed south of Fort Macleod until 1976. Mabel then moved into Fort Macleod and resided there until her passing. She was secretary of South Macleod REA, a member of the Rebekahs for many years, charter member of the Country Beavers and was also a member of the Fort Macleod Royal Canadian Legion. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1975; her father Charles Brewster in 1951; her mother Annie in 1976; and by her grandson Zane in 1989. She is survived by her son Ken (Sheila) of Fort Macleod; her daughter Elsie (Dwight) Williams of Chilliwack, B.C.; her grandchildren, Melodie of Vancouver, Heather of Milk River and Michael (Tanya) of Fort Macleod; and by three great grandchildren, Branden, Jayme-Lynn and Jesse Rae. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Fort Macleod, on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Aldeen McKay officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
