Siebe Meindertsma — 2006

"For it is by grace we have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ; and this is not from yourself, it is a gift of God: not by works so no one can boast" Ephesians 2:8-9.
Siebe Meindertsma, beloved husband of 60 years to Sippy, went to meet his Savior on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at the age of 85 years.
Besides his loving wife, Siebe is survived by his children and grandchildren: Martin (Wilma) Meindertsma: David, Jolene (Rob) and Lawrence; and Sheila (Jim) Choles: Sybil and Anna May.
He is also survived by his sisters Sippy Hiemstra and Maaike (Pier) Brouwer in the Netherlands; sister-in-law Thea Hoeksema of Fort Macleod; four sisters-in-law in the Netherlands and numerous nieces and nephews.
Siebe was predeceased by his parents Martinus and Anna; his young daughter Sietha; his brother Jan; and by several sisters and brothers-in-law.
Siebe was born June 11, 1921 in Dokkum, the Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1949 with his wife Sippy and daughter Sietha. Being a farmer at heart, he farmed in the Fort Macleod area until his health failed.
He was an active member of the Granum Christian Reformed Church.
In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at the Granum Christian Reformed Church on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Zondervan officiating.
