Katie Hurd — 2006

   Katie Hurd, beloved wife of Lenard Hurd of Fort Macleod, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, July 30, 2006, at the age of 61 years.
   Katie was born at Craigend, Alta. on Dec. 9, 1944. She married Lenard in 1969 and they resided in Fort Macleod until her passing. Katie worked as a short order cook for Jim Coutts at Tourist Texaco for a few years. She and Lenard joined the Welcome Mat in 1988 and she was an active member, serving as secretary for 14 years.
   Katie is survived by her husband Lenard; her son Ross of Lethbridge; her sister Dora of Vancouver, B.C.; her brother Walter of Vilna, Alberta; three nieces; two nephews; one great nephew and one great niece.
   A celebration of Katie's life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Fort Macleod on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, from 2-4 p.m.
