Alphonsine Mackintosh (Ferdais), formerly of
Fort Macleod, died Sept. 1, 2007 at the age of 89.
Her memorial service and mass was held at St. Luke"s parish in
Maple Ridge, B.C. on Oct. 29, 2007. Graveside prayers and placing of the
ashes was the same afternoon.
She was affectionately referred to as "Al" by her long-time friends
and was predeceased by her husband Hugh, also formerly from Macleod, in
1981.
The Catholic Women"s League Honour Guard from St Luke"s, St.
Patrick"s (neighbouring parish) and other members of the CWL from the Fraser
Valley area were in attendance.
Al was the last surviving member of the original parish (1943) and
a CWL member since 1944.
She is survived by her four children and respective families
residing in B.C. and Calgary; sister Rose of Lethbridge; and twin Germaine
of Fort Macleod; brothers Joe near Edmonton and Wilfred of High River.
Donations to Alzheimer"s would be greatly appreciated.
Alphonsine lived peacefully with her eldest daughter Lorraine in
Penticton the last two years of her life. |
