Alvin Robert Dell, beloved husband of Marlaine
Dell of Fort Macleod, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the age of 81
years.
Alvin was born in Carmen, Oklahoma on Feb. 1, 1926 to George and
Mary Dell.
Alvin settled in the Hays area and married Marlaine on April 5,
1958 in Taber. He worked for the PFRA in the Vauxhall area and then the LNID
until he retired in Fort Macleod in 1985.
Alvin was a very patient and loving man. He was an avid sportsman,
loved to coach and play baseball, curling, fishing and hunting. He was
always ready for a game of cards. He loved camping, catching the most fish
and listening to his children and grandchildren sing, while accompanying on
his guitar. Alvin will be forever remembered and missed by his wife Marlaine;
his children, Patti (Randy) Segboer, Linda (Kelly) O'Sullivan, Rob Dell and
Pam (Dan) McDougall; one brother, Gerald (Kathy) Dell; and by his
grandchildren, Davin Leiding, Leilani, Ashley and DJ McDougall, Justin,
Ryan, Ben, Thomas and Hannah Segboer.
Alvin was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Dell and by
two brothers, Elmer Dell and Ott Dell.
Funeral service will be held at Eden's Funeral Home, Fort Macleod,
on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Eras Van Zyl officiating.
Interment in Union Cemetery.
