Thea Hansine (Andersen) Jacobsen passed away on
Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at the age of 91 years.
Thea was born on March 3, 1916, in Tokkerup, Lolland, Denmark.
She married her husband Egon Jacobsen on Nov. 11, 1939, residing in
Boto, Marielyst and Hasselo, Falster. They immigrated to Canada in 1948 to
farm in the Coaldale region, moving onto a farm south of Fort Macleod near
Stand Off in 1965 and then into Fort Macleod in 1973.
Thea was actively involved as a cook at the Fort Macleod Auction
Market, a relief cook at the hospital until 1978 and then as the Seniors
Pioneer Lodge matron until 1983.
She was a member of the Royal Purple for some 30 years, serving a
two-year term as Honoured Royal Lady and was an inaugural member of the
Seniors Welcome Mat.
Thea's interests included tulip, rose and vegetable gardening,
crocheting, needlepoint, family and social activities.
Thea is survived by her daughters Mrs. Reginald (Jane) Norby of
Edmonton and Miss Joyce Jacobsen of Lethbridge; her son Dr. Johnny (Kim)
Jacobsen of Flemington, New Jersey; eight grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Egon (1981), her daughter Mrs.
Tom (Judy) Howe (1985) and by her infant son Jimmy (1946).
Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Fort Macleod
on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Eras Van Zyl and Rev. Peter
Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in Archmount Memorial Gardens, Lethbridge.

to The Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
