Den Bow Lee— 2008
| Den Bow Lee, beloved husband
of Anna, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at the age of
74 years. Besides his loving wife Anna, Bow is survived by his six children, Linda (Larry), Arthur, Gord (Christie), Jean (Jim), Kendall, and Michael (Liv); nine grandchildren, Christopher (Heidi), David (Nichole), Carmelia, Rosalyn, Catrione, Michael, Melissa, Emma, and Jayden; one great grandchild Lillian; numerous in-laws and two nieces. Den Bow Lee emigrated from China to Canada at the end of 1951 and worked with his grandfather in the Rex Café, of which he later on became the owner. He went back to Hong Kong in 1956 to find a bride, fell in love with Anna, got married and brought her to Canada in January 1957. Bow and Anna started a family in 1958, had six children who love them very much, stayed and worked together side by side, and were married for 52 years. The Rex Café was an institution in the town of Fort Macleod, frequented by many regulars who loved the homemade hamburgers, french fries, and pies, but who also came to have a coffee, a smoke, and a chat with Bow. In the last few years, people could see Bow make his daily walk downtown to pick up the mail and his daily Calgary Herald. |

Bow loved his sports, particularly the Calgary
Flames and hockey (in the olden days, he loved the Montreal Canadiens, and
the fast-skating Guy Lafleur), and the Calgary Stampeders and Canadian
football.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by the many people
whose lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held at Eden’s Funeral Home on Friday,
Dec. 12, 2008, at 2 p.m.
