Robert (Bob) Broadfoot, beloved husband of Rose Chevrefils
of Fort Macleod, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care in Lethbridge
with his family by his side, on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the age of 66
years. He is the loving father of Marie-Anne Chevrefils of Fort Macleod and
Joanne (Pierre) Sabourin of St. Jean, Manitoba, and grandfather to Nicholas,
Alain, and Cody. He is also survived by his mother Janet Broadfoot.
Bob was predeceased by his father, Edward Broadfoot.Born in Stonewall, Man.
on Feb. 18, 1942, Bob was raised in Woodlands, Man. and moved to Alberta in
March of 1978, settling in Fort Macleod in 1990.
At the age of 16, Bob found his life’s passion — truck driving, which took
him from coast to coast and occupied nearly 45 years of his life. His most
important passion was his family. Bob was a loving father and husband and
enjoyed special times with them; camping, playing with his kids, and
welcoming and loving his grandkids.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. The family
wishes to thank Dr. Frick, Denise Gugala, the staff at St. Michael’s
Palliative Care, and a special thank you to Tory Koch, and to Laura
Schellhorn and Willa Paterson.A memorial was held at the Fort Macleod Legion
on Friday, June 13, 2008, from 1-3 p.m.
