The Lord called Ethel Jackman home Saturday,
Sept. 19, 2009, to help take care of the heavenly gardens.
Ethel was born in 1918 in Fort Macleod to Gordon and Sadie Gray and
received her education at Mud Lake and Daly Creek schools. Ethel was a
member of the Foothills Community Club and the United Church. She was always
available to lend a helping hand where needed. During the summer months
Ethel enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and in the winter spent many
hours quilting and knitting. Ethel enjoyed visiting with her family and
friends.
Ethel leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Joan Clarke;
grandchildren, Shelley (Norm) Ellen, Ron Clarke, Linda (Geoff) Douglas,
Anita (Rod) Slobinyk and Rebecca Pepin; great grandchildren, Robert,
Gregory, Caitlin, Jesse, Jeremy, Jodi and Dylan; two great great
grandchildren; sisters, Beth Gillard of Lacombe, Margaret (Dwayne) Archibald
of Fort Macleod and a brother Larry (Doreen) Gray of Raymond; plus numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Ethel was predeceased by her
loving husband Bob, daughter Doreen, her parents Gordon and Sadie, seven
brothers and two sisters.
A celebration of life service will be held at Eden’s Funeral Home
on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Eras Van Zyl officiating.
