John De Smit— 2009

   John De Smit, beloved husband of Cecelia De Smit, passed away in Fort Macleod on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at the age of 71.
   John is the loving father of Carlos (Angela), Raymond (Mona), Darcy (Michelle) and Dallas (Julie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, Caitlin, Selina, Dax, Rikke, Caroline and Preston.
   John is also survived by his brothers Bill (Doreen), Ken and Ron (Darlene); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
   A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 2604 Third Ave., Fort Macleod. A memorial mass was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church with Father Ben Marino, celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Cowley Cemetery, family plot.
   Memorial donations may be made in memory of John to the Fort Macleod Community Care Beds, P.O.
