Maxine Alberta (Elliott)
Lauder passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Fort Macleod
Extendicare at the age of 84 years. Maxine was born in Melfort, Sask. on
April 18, 1925. She moved to Fort Macleod in 1930 with her family. She
then married Ronald Dawson Lauder (deceased) on July 17, 1944.
Maxine was a life member of the Royal Purple until illness
prevented her from participating. She was known for her precision in
everything that she did, one being her beautiful handwriting. Maxine was
very good at knitting and her baking was very precise and always tasted
so yummy. Our favourites were her chocolate chip cookies, gingerbread
cookies, fruit cake, apple crisp and porridge. There was no one who
could make these quite the same as Grandma and heaven knows we’ve all
tried! Mom was a great cook and nothing pleased her more than to have
her family together for a meal.
Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and her great
grandchildren. While her health was still good she would show up with
cupcakes for school activities, or be seen at basketball games and
swimming lessons with the grandchildren. You could also find her playing
checkers or bingo with the great grandchildren. |

Colleen (Craig) Hann and their children Jaeger, Kaylee, Bowen Hann, Aaron
