The police college project manager will be in Fort Macleod on
Monday, May 28 to discuss the $110-million project.
Bill Meade, along with other people involved in the Alberta Police
and Peace Officer Training Centre, will attend an open house at
the community hall.
"We will have an opportunity for anyone to ask questions of the
engineer and project manager for the police college," Mayor
Shawn Patience said.
The Town of Fort Macleod's annual open house runs from 5-7:30 p.m.
at the Fort Macleod and District Community Hall.
In addition to the police college, there will also be information
at the open house about designated assisted living facilities.
"Chinook Health will have a table with a video presentation and a
staff member manning it," Coun. Ken Williams said.
The Town of Fort Macleod's 2006 financial statement will be
available at the open house, along with a list of capital
projects council has approved for the next year.
An update on the realignment of Highway 2 and Highway 3 will also
be provided.
"I directed (Alberta Transportation) to prepare consultation
boards," said Shawn Wells, municipal manager for the Town of
Fort Macleod.
Information will also be available to anyone considering running
for council in the municipal elections in October.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been invited to
have a booth at the open house to promote its emergency
preparedness fair in June. Council has also extended invitations
to FCSS, the Empress Theatre, The Fort Ñ Museum of the North
West Mounted Police to have displays.
Council will provide coffee, juice and doughnuts.
