A delegation of Alberta Police and Peace Officer Training Centre officials on Monday visited Fort Macleod.

   Visiting from the Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security department were Special Projects Unit executive director Bill Meade and manager Dr. Curtis Clarke.

   Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation's Project Delivery Branch was represented by project managers Kent Phillips and Harvey Lui and assistant project manager Rachel Pressick.

   Also in attendance was Dan Wiart, manager of chartered accountants Kingston, Ross and Pasnak.

   The delegation arrived at Fort Macleod Airport shortly after 11 a.m. Monday and drove to the police college site on the southeast corner of town.

   After a quick tour of the site they had lunch with town council at Fort Macleod Golf Club.

   The delegation then moved to the Town Office where they met with council, municipal manager Shawn Wells, economic development officer Gordon MacIvor and his assistant Riet Kleissen, public works foreman Barry Campbell, electrical department foreman Chris Cheesman and plants foreman Dan Segboer.

   At 2 p.m. the delegation heard a presentation by Stefan Michalski of ECB Enviro North America Inc. about using energy from a biofuels plant in the police college.

   Later that afternoon the delegation toured The Fort Museum of the North West Mounted Police and the Empress Theatre.

   At 4 p.m. the delegation met with the police college liaison committee for dinner and discussion at the Empress Theatre.

   At 5:30 p.m. the delegation went to Fort Macleod and District Community Hall to make a presentation at council's open house.
