Children’s Festival is fun for all ages

The annual Children’s Festival has become a highlight with young people of Fort Macleod.

For each of the past 10 years more than 300 children turned out for the festival, which is held on the first Saturday of May at the Fort Macleod and District Sports Centre.

The festival, which is organized by the Allied Arts Council of Fort Macleod, features professional and amateur performers. Performers such as Felix Possak, The Red Smarteez, Buddy the Clown, Flying Bob, Richard the Magician, Brett Kissel and Tink and Judy have brought their unique talents to past Children’s Festivals. Children take part in a variety of activities ranging from crafts to face-painting, and from the astrojump to a costume parade. Local organizations such as the fire department and the RCMP have booths at the Children’s Festival to distribute information.
