Families and individuals looking for a quality small town
lifestyle are finding it in Fort Macleod.
Nestled in scenic southwestern Alberta, the community offers a
variety of residential opportunities at attractive prices.
Fort Macleod has in recent years enjoyed an influx of young
families moving to town in pursuit of a quality small-town
lifestyle. At the same time a growing number of adults are moving
here who have sold their homes in the city and are looking for a
quality style of life. Within the town there is a reasonable
supply of existing homes for sale. Prices continue to be steady to
strong.
Housing prices in Fort Macleod remain considerably less expensive
than in the Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and other major urban
markets. Fort Macleod is strategically located at the junction of
Highway 2, which runs north and south, and Highway 3, which
travels east and west. Fort Macleod is in a convenient location,
situated as it is just 90 minutes away from Calgary, and 30
minutes from Lethbridge. Planning is under way for the Fort
Macleod highway realignment which will have a significant positive
impact on the community in the future. The realignment offers the
town a unique opportunity for economic growth.
There are lots available in the new Eastside subdivision opened
last year, and townhouses in the new Garrison Villas development
are proving popular.
There are country residential developments from two to five acres
available north of the river valley, and at Macleod Airfield
Properties. Macleod Meadows offers a new manufactured home land
lease community. Most real estate transactions are handled by
local offices and most properties are on the Multiple Listing
Service (www.mls.ca). |
