Jordan, Althea

Althea Jordan passed away at Extendicare Fort Macleod on Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the age of 88 years.
Althea was born and raised in Fort Macleod. She married George Jordan in Fort Macleod in 1939.
Althea was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She served two terms as Catholic Women’s League (CWL) president and she was secretary of the Diocese CWL.
Althea was also president of the Home and School Association and first president of the Fort Macleod Chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Althea is survived by three sons: Alan (Mary) Jordan of Calgary, Gary (Caroline) Jordan of Edmonton and Terry (Eveline) Jordan of Edmonton; her daughter Dawn (Jim) Caughlin of Fort Macleod; her sister Eileen (Wilf) Allen of Didsbury; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Althea was predeceased by her husband George in 1976; her daughter Sharon Cote in 1997; her parents Bert and Nellie Bradshaw; her sisters Beatrice Scott and Theresa Wheeler; and her brothers Edgar and Bert Bradshaw.
A prayer service was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Friday, April 26, 2002, at 8 p.m.
The funeral service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Macleod on Saturday, April 27, 2002, at 1 p.m. with Father Joseph Roy officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Althea’s memory to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation c/o the Fort Macleod drug stores.
