Gerrigje den Boon (Loeve) passed away in Fort Macleod, after many trials and illnesses, on Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at the age of 83 years.
Our dear mother was born on July 6, 1919 in Gouderak, the Netherlands.
Gerrie is survived by her seven children: Dick (Jeannette) Pols of Lethbridge, Nellie (Bert) Kadijk of Lethbridge, Jannie den Boon of Fort Macleod, Ina (John) Vandenberg of Picture Butte, Clarence (Jenny) den Boon of Fort Macleod, Arie (Audrey) den Boon of Outlook, Sask. and Jerry (Brenda) den Boon of Nobleford.
She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, her brother A. Loeve and sister-in-law in the Netherlands, and by her sister Marie Visser of Lethbridge.
Gerrie was predeceased by her first husband, Bastiaan Pols in March 1945 and by her second husband Arie den Boon on Jan. 2, 2000.
The funeral service was held at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation Church, Fort Macleod on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. P. Bazen officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
An opportunity for viewing and offering condolences was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Jan. 6, 2003 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Gerrie’s memory to a charity of your choice.
