Jordan, Joe

Joseph A. Jordan passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at Fort Macleod on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at the age of 87 years.
Joe will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty; his daughters, Colleen (Dan) of Burnaby and Sherri (Terry) of Morinville; his grandchildren, Blaine (Barb) of Edmonton and Jillian (Marc) and great grandson Zacharay, all of Morinville.
Also left to mourn him are his nieces and nephews, Lewis, Earl, Joanne, Dan, Mary Lou, Annette, Joe and Kathy; numerous grand nieces and nephews and his brother-in-law Abe Savard of Victoria.
Joe was predeceased by his brother Mike Jordan and sisters-in-law Agnes Jordan and Gladys Savard.
Born to Mike and Katherine Jordan in 1916, Joe spent most of his adult life in Fort Macleod, where he was active in all aspects of the community, including the Lions Club (life member), curling club (life member), golf club (life member), Elks Club and served one term as a town councilor.
His life-long dedication to the Catholic Church and involvement in the Knights of Columbus (since 1937) were the center of his spiritual life, the camaraderie of his friends around the province, especially his golf and curling pals, were the major pleasure of his life.
A prayer service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Macleod on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at 6 p.m.
A celebration of life and memorial service was held at Holy Cross Church on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at 2 p.m.
