Layton, Beryl

Beryl Mabel Layton, beloved wife of the late Orlin Layton of Fort Macleod, passed away at Rosewood Villa on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at the age of 79 years.
Beryl was born in London, England, where she was raised and attended school. She married Orlin in 1943 and emigrated to Canada, living in Taber and then moving to Fort Macleod.
Beryl was a homemaker and raised four children. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, serving as president in 1956.
Beryl is survived by her three sons, Dave Layton of Penticton, B.C., Brian (Sharon) Layton of Calgary and Jim Layton of Penticton; her daughter Darlene (Rob) Hansford of Banff; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her sister Nina of England.
A funeral service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Fort Macleod on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at 1 p.m. with Bishop Brian Waldie officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
A visitation was held in the church’s Relief Society Room prior to the service.
