Stelfox, Richard

Richard John Stelfox, who was born June 11, 1962, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 3, 2003.
Born in Edmonton and raised in southern Alberta, Richard married Rosanne Burkinshaw on March 19, 1983, and moved to Whitehorse, Yukon where Richard worked in air traffic control for three years. They spent the next 13 years in various parts of Alberta, then moved to Chilliwack, B.C. where they lived until his passing.
Richard leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Rosanne, three children, Crystal (Tim) Woods, Sean, Nancy, and one grandson, Dmitri Woods, all of Chilliwack, B.C.; his mother, Florence M. Stelfox, sister Janette Stelfox, both of Fort Macleod; and sister Barbara (James) Powers, nephews Luke and Mark Powers, all of Eckville; and numerous relatives and friends.
Richard was predeceased by his father, F. Roy Stelfox on May 4, 2001.
Funeral services were held in Chilliwack, B.C. on Jan. 11, 2003. Cremation followed. Because of Richard’s involvement with the First Nations Community, representatives of the Stolo Nations performed a traditional song and dance in his memory.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 1 p.m. in the Marquis Room, at Westerner Park, 4847 19th St., Red Deer, Derek Poitras and Jason Letkemann officiating.
