Walker, Helen Florence

Helen Florence Walker (nee McNab), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at the age of 89 years.
Helen will be sadly missed by her daughter Jean (Reg) O’Sullivan of Fort Macleod and by her son Bruce (Diane) Walker of Grande Prairie.
She is also survived by her sister Bertha Stewart of Fort Macleod; her 10 grandchildren, Cindy (Dennis) Gray, Darcy O’Sullivan, Kelly (Linda) O’Sullivan, Randy O’Sullivan, Wade (Jennie) O’Sullivan, Sandi (Scott) Norlin all of Fort Macleod, James (Lorri) Walker, Carl, Christine and Michelle Walker all of Grande Prairie; 18 great grandchildren, Tacy (Kip) Lewis, Chad and Wade Gray, Marci (Wes) Stockton, Shawn and Jaquelyn O’Sullivan, Denton and Chet Oberkirsch, Kaede and Jace Norlin, Kira and Ben O’Sullivan, Lindsay and Josh O’Sullivan, Josh, Jenni, Marie and David Walker; six great great grandchildren, Kayla, Hayley, Janelle and Jason Stockton and Joel and Jordan Lewis and by several nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her parents Bill and Ida McNab; her husband Bill Walker; her sisters, Eva, Kathleen and Gladys and by her brothers Reg and Norman.
Helen enjoyed her many years teaching and was well respected by her students and colleagues. Her hobbies were bridge, curling, golf and she loved to travel.
Family was most important to Helen as she never missed a family event. Helen’s zest for life and her independence was an inspiration to all. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ian Bennett and Dr. Sabastian David and nursing staff of the Fort Macleod Health Care Center for all their kindness and wonderful care that they gave Helen over the past years. We would also like to thank Dr. Janzen for his care and concern for Helen in the last week at Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
In celebration of Helen’s life, a memorial service will be held at Christ Church Anglican, Fort Macleod on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Noel Wygiera officiating.
