Barnes, Jean Hunter

Jean Hunter Barnes, aged 86 years of Granum, passed away at the Claresholm General Hospital on Nov. 2, 2004.
Jean was the widow of the late Charles Barnes who predeceased her in 1991.
She is survived by four sons, Doug (Donna), Melvin (Linda), John (Connie) and Tom (Anne) Barnes, all of Granum; and a daughter-in-law Carol of Lethbridge.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Marge Mulholland of Claresholm and Veda Mulholland of Stavely.
Besides her husband, Jean was predeceased by a son Rick in 1980; her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Lester Mulholland; two sisters, Clarice Harding Jensen and Helen Ralph Hunter.
Jean was born and raised in Claresholm where she received her education, and in 1936 moved to Granum, residing there since.
Jean was very community minded, working nearly 45 years in Home and School, as well as a considerable amount of years in Scouting and Girl Guides. She enjoyed being very active in her church through the years.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Claresholm on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at 2 p.m., with Bishop Mark Stubbs officiating. Interment followed in the Granum Cemetery.
