Ducharme, Grant Owen

Grant Owen Ducharme was born in Creston, B.C. on April 25, 1940, and passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004.
Grant is survived by his wife Margaret; his parents Joe and Holly Ducharme; three sons, Tim, Randy and Tyler; one grandson Jesse; and his mother-in-law Rose Jenkins.
He is also survived by four brothers, Frank (Lou), Lloyd (Jean), Fred (Yvonne) and Larry; sister-in-laws Carol Kretzer (Heinz), Loretta Moses (Bob), Eileen Moses (Phil); and was uncle to numerous nieces and nephews (all of whom were his favourite).
Grant was predeceased by one sister Myrtel and one brother-in-law Calvin (Sonny) Jenkins.
Grant married Margaret Jenkins in 1967 and they lived and raised their three sons in Calgary where trucking was his life.
Grant and Margaret retired to Fort Macleod in 2002 and have truly made Fort Macleod their home. Grant was just elected to town council. He was very much looking forward to serving his community.
Grant loved teasing and joking with everyone and he was constantly inviting friends and relatives to his home where he could share his hospitality and homemade wine.
Grant spent many summers camping with Margaret and Jesse and other family members and the more people around the better he liked it. He also thoroughly enjoyed the many school and family reunions where he could catch up with family and friends.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Church, 220-20th St., Fort Macleod.
