Born to Harry and Clara Gilroy in 1915, Betty spent most of her life in Fort Macleod where she was employed by Reach and Co. until she married Joe Jordan in 1947 and they moved to Cowley, where their daughters Colleen and Sherri came into their lives.
Returning home to Fort Macleod in 1959, Betty was active in community charities including the founding of the Lionettes Club and the building of the Children’s Park.
Betty will be sadly missed by Colleen (Dan) of Burnaby and Sherri (Terry) of Morinville; her grandchildren, Blaine (Barb) of Edmonton and Jillian (Marc) of Morinville and by her great grandson Zachary.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joe, in November 2003; her sister Gladys Savard and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Agnes Jordan.
Betty loved her family and friends, her french poodles, her flowers, a good game of bridge, the chuck wagon races and the Blue Jays. Most of all Mother loved to help the less fortunate, be it her Vietnamese boat family, victims of a fire or new residents needing a hand up.
A memorial service for family and friends was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Father Maurice Joly officiating.
