Perrin, Harvey

Harvey Oron Perrin, beloved husband of Betty Perrin, passed away at Fort Macleod on Jan. 29, 2004, at the age of 72 years.
Harvey was born at Fort Macleod on Nov. 10, 1931, and was raised on the family farm south of Fort Macleod, attending school at Ardenville and later at Macleod public school.
As a boy, he belonged to the 4-H Club and received second prize for his calf. Harvey also loved horses and rode his pinto in the Macleod parade.
About 1951, he started a trucking business, hauling grain, coal and other goods to rural areas from Uncle Les’s feed mill. Harvey also worked for farmers in the Bow Island and Foremost areas.
In July 1958 he married and later had three children: Margaret Ann (1959), Albert Oron (1963) and Frances Ethel Edna (1965). During this time he was employed by Crestbrook Forest Industries and in an accident lost part of his hand.
In August 1970, he married Betty (Smalls) Vair and became father to her children: Sidney Eugene, Linda Christine, John Albert, Robert Lyle, William Lloyd, Frederick Kenneth and Deborah Ann.
Harvey was a life-long resident of Fort Macleod. He and Betty enjoyed camping and trips to B.C. to visit the children and grandchildren.
Harvey is survived by his wife Betty; his daughter Margaret and her sons Jason and Travis Fulton; his daughter Frances (Dave) Parker and their children Teri and Brent; and by his son Albert (Dina) and their son Brand.
He is also survived by Betty’s children; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his brother Stanley (Dianne) Perrin of Lethbridge; nephews Gordon and Lyle (Andrea) and their families.
Harvey was predeceased by his parents Oron and Edna Perrin (1979); his brothers, Donald (1930) and Howard (1939); his twin sisters (1938); and by his stepson Sidney (1991).
A funeral service was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at 1 p.m. with Jack Cullen officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
