Fleming, Pearl

Pearl Fleming, beloved wife of the late Jack Fleming, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Extendicare, Fort Macleod on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Pearl was born May 13, 1916, to Wm. Henry McMillan and Mary Lorimer in Brussels, Ont. She moved to Dakner, Man. where her father farmed. As a young woman Pearl moved to Pelican Lake to live with her Aunt Hazel and Uncle Otis Strong, to assist them with their triplets. Pearl’s final move took her to Fort Macleod in search of work. It was here that she met and married Jack Fleming. Jack predeceased her on Nov. 7, 1998. She was also predeceased by her brothers Roy (Jean) McMillan and Jack (Fay) McMillan. Pearl is survived by her three children, Rae (Linda) Fleming, Donna (Allan) Little and Merv (Lesley) Fleming; her grandchildren, Scott, Jacquie, Tamara, Kristoper, Courtney and Andraya (Rae’s), Robyn, Kristine and Jodi (Donna’s) and Taylor and Graham (Merv’s); and by 13 great grandchildren. Pearl will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service was held at EdenĀ¹s Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harry Taylor officiating.
