Laura Catherine (Hamilton) Madsen passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sept. 12, 2005, in Kamloops, B.C. in her 90th year.
Laura was born on April 21, 1916, the seventh child and third daughter of John Silas and Catherine (Grannie) Hamilton in Macleod. She was raised and educated there.
She married Egan Madsen on July 31, 1937, and they had two children, Laurence and Margaret.
Laura was employed at Currie Barracks and City Hall in Calgary. She retired in Sorrento, B.C., and later moved to Kamloops.
She is survived by her son Larry (Cathy) Madsen, one brother, Wesley Hamilton, all of Kamloops, B.C.; son-in-law Gerry Panus; grandchildren Debra Madsen and Dale (Yvette) Cunningham; great grandchildren Morgan and Quinn Cunningham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter Margaret; granddaughter Christina; four brothers, Cecil, Wallace or Hammer (Kasey), Hector (Maggie), William or Bill (Connie); two sisters, Martha O’Connor (James), and Margaret Burrows (Grant); and by her brother Wesley’s wives, Thelma, Ethel and Dorothy.
She will be sadly missed.
