Robert (Bob) Reach of Fort Macleod, beloved husband of Eileen (Brewster) Reach, passed away at Edmonton on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 71 years. Bob was born to Charles and Marion Reach on Feb. 25, 1934, in Fort Macleod. He was raised in Fort Macleod, remaining involved in the family business, Reach and Company, in his early adult years. Bob met the love of his life Eileen (Brewster) Reach and they married on Aug. 10, 1955. Inspired by his father in-law to pursue a new career in agriculture, he continued farming and ranching until the time of his passing. He has always been known for his love of the land and animals he raised on it. Bob¹s greatest love of all was his family and friends. He spent many memorable days at the Brewster river-bottom, enjoying picnics, playing horseshoes and swimming in the river. It was a place to relax, reconnect with his loved ones, while embracing God¹s beautiful land. Bob was also actively involved in his community, holding offices in Masons and Shriners, playing and coaching hockey and baseball, curling and golfing with his friends and family. He was instrumental in helping his wife, Eileen, in the creation of her dream business, Neen¹s Plants. Bob is survived by his wife Eileen Reach; his mother Gladys Marion Swinarton; his two sons, Brian (Ronda) and children Randi (Jason), Nicholas and Ashley, and Scot (Bev) and children Brenton and Braydon; his brother Charles Reach; niece Susan Reach and her son Colton; and by his cousin Dwight (Donna) and children Victoria and Elizabeth. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, Fort Macleod, on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Noel Wygiera officiating.
