Waring, William Shane

William Shane Waring passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital after a brief illness, on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the age of 24 years.
Shane is the beloved son of Marciele and Dan Simard of Fort Macleod. Shane was born in Fort Macleod on March 16, 1981 and was special from the day he was born.
Shane’s battle with two brain tumours left him mentally and physically disabled. Despite the hardships over the years, Shane still enjoyed the little things in life. They brought a smile to his face, especially seeing things like cows and “chickens” (Shane considered all birds’ chickens). He also loved noisy toys, kids, food from “Donalds” and loved his “Tic Tac Taz” toy.
Shane loved to give hugs and kisses, and his eyes would light up every time he saw his Grandpa, Uncle Henry, Uncle Todd or cousin Jacky, when any of them would walk into the room and talk to him. He was especially fond of his brother Cole egging him on and into trouble.
He was thought of as a little boy, never as an adult, because of his child like innocence. We have comfort in the knowledge that his hardships are over and that he is walking, running and chasing his great Auntie Dove around, with Gerrit (who would be turning up his nose) and Aunty Toots watching on telling them to settle down.
Shane is survived by his loving parents Marciele and Dan Simard and by his younger brother Cole Waring. He is also survived by his grandparents Jim and Dawn Caughlin of Fort Macleod; his great grandma Annis Caughlin of Abernathy, Sask.; his Aunty Shannon and Uncle Henry and cousins: Hank, Ros, Jacky, Janice and Jordan Van Hierden of Fort Macleod; his uncle Todd (Joella) Caughlin of San Antonio, Texas and by other relatives.
Shane was predeceased by his great grandpa Henry Caughlin, his special great aunts Theresa Wheeler (Dove) and Althea Jordan (Toots) and by his cousin Gerrit Van Hierden.
A memorial service will be held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 10 a.m.
